The Electromagnetism.

The Electromagnetism, is a branch of Physics, that deals with the electromagnetic force, that occurs between electrically charged particles.
The electromagnetic force, is one of the four fundamental forces, and exhibits electromagnetic fields, such as magnetic fields, electric fields, and light.
It is the basic reason electrons are bound, to the nucleus, and are responsible, for the complete structure of the nucleus.

The Electromagnetism, is the physical interaction, among electric charges, magnetic moments, and electromagnetic fields.
An electromagnetic field can be static, slowly changing, or form waves.
The Electromagnetic waves are generally known, as light, and obey the laws of optics.

An electromagnet is a magnet, that runs on electricity.
Unlike a permanent magnet, the strength of an electromagnet can easily be changed, by changing the amount of electric current, that flows through it.
The poles of an electromagnet can even be reversed, by reversing the flow of electricity.

Examples of electromagnetic waves, traveling through space, independent of matter are, radio, and television waves, microwaves, infrared rays, visible light, ultraviolet light, X-rays, and gamma rays.

Scientists call them, all electromagnetic radiation.
The waves of energy are called electromagnetic, (EM) because they have oscillating electric, and magnetic fields.
Scientists classify them, by their frequency or wavelength, going from high to low frequency, (short to long wavelength).

The Electromagnetic waves are used, to transmit long, or short, or FM wavelength, radio waves, and Television (TV), or Telephone, or Mobile, or wireless signals, or energies.
They are also responsible, for transmitting energy, in the form of microwaves, infrared radiation (IR), visible light (VIS), ultraviolet light (UV), X-rays, and gamma rays.

The Sound waves are physical, so the oscillations are formed, from vibrating solid, liquid or gas, so require a medium, Air, or Water, or Solid, to travel through.
The Sound is a mechanical wave.
While, The Electromagnetic waves, cause oscillations in electric, and magnetic fields, so do not require a medium, Air, or Water, or Solid, to travel through.

Can humans hear electromagnetic waves?

The Human ear can hear, only audio waves, and not radio waves.
Audio waves, or sound waves are not electromagnetic radiation, and needs a medium, Air, or Water, or Solid, for transmission.
While, the electromagnetic waves, which do not need, a medium, Air, or Water, or Solid, for transmission.
It is not possible to hear, from a 4G or 5G tower, however, long you stand there.

Can sound become electricity?.

The Sound vibrations can become, electrical energy, through the principle of Electromagnetic Induction.

Electromagnetic induction generates, electrical current using a magnetic field.
When a magnetic field, and a conductor, such as a wire coil, move in relationship to one another, electromagnetic induction occurs.

The Loudspeakers, or microphones are used, to produce sound waves, via electrical devices, such as music systems, or telephones, or mobiles, or to convert sound waves, into electrical signals.
In the case of microphones, sound brings about voltage changes, thus allowing sound waves, to be converted into electromagnetic waves.
The Loudspeakers generally operate, on electrodynamic principles, and convert electromagnetic waves, into sound waves, with the help of membranes, and coils.

Can we hear electromagnetic waves?.

Radio Waves: You can tune a radio, to a specific wavelength, or frequency, and listen, to your favorite music.
The radio, "receives", these electromagnetic radio waves, and converts them, to mechanical vibrations, in the speaker, to create the sound waves, you can hear.

The Electromagnetism, science of charge, and of the forces, and fields, associated with charge.
The Electricity, and magnetism are two aspects, of electromagnetism.

Everyday, modern life is pervaded, by electromagnetic phenomena.
When a lightbulb is switched on, a current flows, through a thin filament, in the bulb, and the current heats the filament, to such a high temperature, that it glows, illuminating, its surroundings.
Electric clocks, and connections link, simple devices of this kind, into complex systems.
Such as traffic lights, that are timed, and synchronized, with the speed of vehicular flow.
Radio, and television sets receive information, carried by electromagnetic waves, traveling through space at the speed of light, Not required Air, or Water, or Solid.
To start an automobile, currents in an electric starter motor, generate magnetic fields, that rotate the motor shaft, and drive engine pistons, to compress an explosive mixture of, gasoline and air;
The spark initiating, the combustion is an electric discharge, which makes up a momentary, current flow.

What is Electromagnetic Force?.

The electromagnetic force is a type of physical interaction, that occurs between electrically charged particles.
It acts, between charged particles, and is the combination of all magnetic, and electrical forces.
The electromagnetic force can be attractive, or repulsive.

The Electromagnetism is a process, where a magnetic field is created, by introducing the current, in the conductor.
When a conductor is electrically charged, it generates magnetic lines.
For example, if current, that is, positive charges move in a wire, it produces, the magnetic field, along the wire, and the direction of magnetic lines, and force can be determined, using Right-hand Rule.
In below Image, it shows.

Example:

The Permanent Magnetic speakers, commonly used in TeleVisions, and Radios, are perfect examples of Electromagnetic devices.
Let’s see the operation of these devices, which are based on the principle, of electromagnetism.

In below Image, it shows.

In order to convert electrical waves, into audible sound, the speakers are designed.
A metal coil is attached, to a permanent magnet, and when current passes, through the coil, it generates a magnetic field.
The newly formed magnetic field is repelled, by the permanent magnetic field, resulting in the vibrations.
These vibrations are amplified, by the cone-like structure, causing the sound.
This is how speakers work based on electromagnetism.

Electromagnetic Induction.

We have seen what happens, when a conductor is electrically charged.
Now, let’s see what happens, if we place a conductor, in between the magnetic field.

When a conductor is placed, or moved through the magnetic field, it generates voltage, that is, electricity.
This principle is called Electromagnetic Induction.
The voltages generated will be based, on the speed of the conductor moving, through the magnetic field.
Faster the speed of the conductor, the greater the induced electricity, or voltage.

Few Properties of the Electromagnetic Wave.

Electromagnetic waves are propagated, by oscillating electric, and magnetic waves, at right angles to each other.
They exhibit the properties of interference and diffraction.
They travel at a speed of 3 × 108 m/s in a vacuum.
They are transverse waves.

The relationship between the wavelength (λ) and frequency (c) of an electromagnetic wave is given as follows:

c = v λ

Electromagnetic Spectrum.

The electromagnetic spectrum, in simple terms, is defined as the range of, all types of electromagnetic radiation.

The electromagnetic spectrum is a range of frequencies, wavelengths, and photon energies, covering frequencies, from below 1 hertz to above 1025 Hz, corresponding to wavelengths, which are a few kilometres, to a fraction of the size of an atomic nucleus, in the spectrum of electromagnetic waves.
Generally, in a vacuum, electromagnetic waves, tend to travel at speeds, which is similar to that of light.
However, they do so, at a wide range of wavelengths, frequencies and photon energies.

The electromagnetic spectrum consists, of a span of all electromagnetic radiation, which further contains many subranges, which are commonly referred, to as portions.
These can be further classified, as infrared radiation, visible light or ultraviolet radiation.

Electromagnetic Waves in the Electromagnetic Spectrum.

The entire range, (electromagnetic spectrum), is given by radio waves, microwaves, infrared radiation, visible light, ultra-violet radiation, X-rays, gamma rays, and cosmic rays in the increasing order of frequency, and decreasing order of wavelength.

The type of radiation, and their frequency, and wavelength ranges are as follows:.

The Electromagnetic waves, in our daily life.

Radio:

A radio basically captures radio waves, that are transmitted by radio stations.
Radio waves, can also be emitted by gases, and stars in space.
Radio waves are mainly used, for Television (TV), or Mobile communication.

Microwave:

This type of radiation is found, in microwaves, and helps in cooking at home or office.
It is also used, by astronomers, to determine, and understand, the structure of nearby galaxies, and stars.

Infrared:

It is used widely, in night vision goggles, means large spectacles equipped with special lenses, protective rims, etc..
These devices can read, and capture the infrared light emitted, by our skin, and objects with heat.
In space, infrared light helps,. to map interstellar dust.

X-ray:

X-rays can be used, in many instances.
Example: a doctor can use an X-ray machine, to take an image of our bones, or teeth.
Airport security personnel, use it to see through, and check bags.
X-rays are also given out, by hot gases in the universe.

Gamma-ray:

It has a wide application, in the medical field.
Gamma-ray imaging is used, to see inside our bodies.
Interestingly, the universe is the biggest gamma-ray generator of all.

Ultraviolet:

The Sun, is the main source of ultraviolet radiation.
It causes skin tanning, and burns.
Hot materials, that are in space,. also emit UV radiation.

Visible:

Visible light, can be detected by our eyes.
Example: Light bulbs, stars, etc., emit visible light.

Spectroscopy:

Spectroscopy is used, to study the way different electromagnetic waves, interact with matter.

A substance by analysing the Electromagnetic, EM spectrum given by it.
When light scatters, or passes through matter, it tends to interact, with molecules, and atoms.
Since, atoms, and molecules have resonance frequencies, they directly interact with, those light waves having the exact frequencies.
When collisions occur, in an excited state, the atoms, and molecules emit light, with a certain set of characteristic frequencies.
This further results, in a line spectrum.
Here, only light, with detached wavelengths is produced.
The spectrum is also not continuous, but it consists of a set of emission lines.

In cases where light, with continuous wavelengths, passes through a low-density material, the atoms and molecules of the material will absorb light waves, with the same set of characteristic frequencies.
This results in the production of the absorption spectrum, which is a nearly continuous spectrum, with missing lines.

Significance of the Electromagnetic Spectrum.

The electromagnetic waves, in these different bands have different characteristics, depending upon, how they are produced, how they interact with matter, and their practical applications.
The existence of an infinite number of frequencies of electromagnetic waves, all travelling with the speed of light.
This is the first indication of, the existence of the entire electromagnetic spectrum.

The main significance of the electromagnetic spectrum is, that it can be used to classify, electromagnetic waves, and arrange them according, to their different frequencies, or wavelengths.

Practical Applications of Electromagnetic Waves.

The radio waves and microwaves discovered by Hertz paved the way for wireless television, radio and mobile communication.

The visible light portion of the electromagnetic spectrum is the reason for all visual aids in daily life. This is the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that helps us to see all objects, including colours.

The X-rays discovered by Roentgen proved to be useful in medicine for detecting many ailments or deformities in bones.

The high ultraviolet radiation has energies to ionise the atoms causing chemical reactions.

The gamma rays discovered by Paul Villard are useful for ionisation purposes and nuclear medicine.

Formulas for the Electromagnetic Radiation.

The frequency(f), speed(c), energy(E) and wavelength(λ) of electromagnetic waves are related as

f = c/λ , or f = E/h, or E = hc/λ.

Where,
c = 299792458 m/s is the speed of light in a vacuum.
h = 6.62607015×10−34 J·s = 4.13566733(10) X 10-15 eV·s is Planck’s constant.

Electromagnetic Waves Inside Brain.

The material basis, for neurons to generate electromagnetic waves, is the result of the exchange of cations, on the inner surface of the cell membrane,
especially (Sodium), Na+, and (Potassium), K+;
The essence of consciousness, should be electromagnetic wave.

Layer of Brain Activities.

The human brain contains, billions of neurons, each of which has its own electrical firing patterns.
Together, groups of neurons, with similar patterns generate oscillations, of electrical activity, or brain waves, which can have different frequencies.

The Human Voice in the Universe or the Space or the outside planet Earth.

No, a human voice does not move in the universe or the Space or the outside planet Earth.
The Sound does not travel in the universe or the Space or the outside planet Earth.
The Sound waves travel, through vibrations in a medium, like air or water or solid, and cannot travel through empty space.
In the universe or the Space or the outside planet Earth, there are no atoms or molecules to carry sound waves, so there is no sound.
The Sound waves lose, energy over time.
As they travel through a medium, causing them to get quieter, and quieter until they disappear.
The Sound waves are reflected, by mediums.
Like walls, pillars, and rocks, which is known as an echo.

Can you hear sound in space.

No, you cannot hear any sounds, in near-empty regions of the space.
The Sound travels, through the vibration of atoms, and molecules in a medium, (such as air or water or solid).
In the universe or the Space or the outside planet Earth, where there is no air, sound has no way to travel.

Is it possible, to send messages, through brain waves of the human?.

Technical telepathy is the best method.
The electrical nature of the brain allows, not only for sending of signals, but also for the receiving of electrical pulses.
These can be delivered, in a non-invasive way, using a technique called transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).

What is the highest brain wave in Humans?.

Gamma brain waves are the fastest brain waves, produced inside human brain.
Although, they can be hard to measure accurately, they tend to measure above 35 Hz, and can oscillate as fast as 100 Hz.
Human brain tends to produce gamma waves.

How to measure brain activity in humans.

The Human Brain, is difficult to study, not only, because of its inherent complexity;
The billions of neurons, the hundreds or thousands of types of neurons, the trillions of connections.
The Human Brain, also works at a number of different scales, both in the physical sense and in the time domain.
To understand, the human brain’s electrical activity at these scales, no single technology is enough.
As a result, neuroscientists have a suite of tools, at their disposal.
Some of these, such as fMRI and EEG, can be used in humans, because they are non-invasive; they work through, by looking into the skull, But, these tools suffer, from a lack of detail.
To get a more microscopic picture, of neuron activity, researchers turn to human models.
This allows the behaviour of individual neurons, or small groups of neurons, to be analysed in much greater detail.
